Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity designed for School Psychologists passionate about supporting K-12 students in urban educational settings. In this role, you'll provide crucial psychological services across a caseload of approximately 60 students with mild to moderate disabilities, ensuring personalized support and guidance throughout the academic year running from mid-August to early June.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Michigan School Psychologist certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification required Official university transcripts must be available prior to consideration Previous experience in school psychology or with similar agencies is preferred, particularly serving urban communities Strong familiarity with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA Federal Regulations Experience collaborating with diverse teams and engaging with families in urban environments
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough psychological assessments, including cognitive, academic, and social-emotional evaluations, to help determine eligibility and support for special education services Lead early identification and evidence-based intervention procedures for students facing academic, behavioral, or emotional difficulties Collaborate regularly with teachers, parents, and administrators to communicate findings and develop comprehensive educational plans Participate in ongoing professional development, staying at the forefront of best practices and regulatory updates Maintain consistent implementation of special education protocols across all assigned schools Be prepared to discuss challenges and available resources for urban students during interviews This onsite role, based in proximity to major metro areas, offers the chance to make a tangible impact within a supportive and diverse school community.
