Lead the School of Speech and Hearing Sciences academic and clinical units, serve as Superintendent of the DuBard School for Language Disorders and The Children's Center for Communication and Development, and manage the School budget. Oversee hiring practices and faculty development. Write accreditation reports, respond to governing body surveys, and complete faculty evaluations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the Director for the SSHS academic and clinical units, and as the Superintendent of Schools for the DuBard School for Language Disorders and The Children's Center for Communication and Development;
Manage the SSHS budget;
Teach one course each semester in primary areas of expertise;
Responsible for class scheduling, approving faculty time and effort, approving student withdrawals and change of majors along with numerous other tasks;
Write technical reports/complete surveys for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's governing bodies and evaluate faculty teaching, research, and service endeavors;
Manage all faculty, staff, and student information requests and issues in a timely fashion, and perform other assigned duties. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
The candidate must hold a PhD. or Ed.
D. in a professional field related to Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English and demonstrate proficient computer literacy skills. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must have excellent managerial skills and experience working in an academic setting; Should have demonstrated scientific and analytical skills; Teamwork and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals; Excellent organizational and time management skills; Must be detail oriented and timely with all emails, files, and documentation; Identifying, defining, and solving problems. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Audiology (or Speech-Language Pathology), an Ed.
D., or a terminal degree in a related field. ASHA clinical certification in Audiology (CCC-A) or Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), and qualified to obtain professional licensure in the state of Mississippi. Rank of Professor, although Associate Professors will be considered.
