Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic School Psychologist to join our team. This role is pivotal in fostering a supportive environment for students by addressing their psychological, emotional, and social challenges. The successful candidate will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a safe and nurturing educational atmosphere conducive to learning- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to determine students' cognitive, emotional, and social functioning
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and other school staff
- Provide direct support and interventions to students, including counseling and crisis intervention
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to address students' educational and psychological needs
- Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to improve support strategies and classroom management techniques
- Promote an understanding of mental health issues and developmental disorders within the school community
- Keep thorough records of students' interventions and outcomes
- Stay current with research and best practices in school psychology through ongoing professional development.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field
- Valid New Jersey certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience with psycho-educational assessment tools and techniques
- Strong understanding of child development, special education, and applicable laws/regulations
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to ethical practice and adherence to the guidelines of the American Psychological
- Association (APA).
