III BOCES
announces a full-time probationary School Psychologist position located in Rensselaer Academy with our Special Education Programs. We are seeking a passionate professional to contribute to a positive and effective learning environment for all students by providing comprehensive psychological services that support their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. The School Psychologist will play a crucial role in supporting our students, particularly those in special education, through direct service, consultation, and intervention.
Counseling:
Providing individual and group counseling to address students' social-emotional needs.
Behavioral Support & Assessment:
Facilitating Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to understand the purpose of challenging behavior.
Leading and participating in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) teams to implement school-wide and targeted interventions.
Crisis Intervention:
Responding to and providing necessary assistance and intervention in crisis situations.
Collaboration:
Communicating with community agencies and outside professionals to coordinate comprehensive services for students and families.
Consulting with teachers, administrators, and parents on effective instructional and behavior management strategies.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications Certification:
Proper NYS School Psychologist certification required.
Students who have just completed or are currently enrolled in a School Psychologist certification program are strongly encouraged to apply.
