- The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) is actively seeking a doctoral-level NYS licensed psychologist to join the Division of Collaborative Care & Wellness in the Department of Psychiatry.
This faculty position is primarily a clinical role embedded with the Behavioral Health Service in Neurology, providing integrated behavioral health services to patients with carious neurological conditions including Functional Neurological Disorders (FND). The successful candidate will devote the majority of their effort to direct patient care within Neurology, delivering evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment as part of an interdisciplinary care team. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the faculty member will contribute to the educational mission of the institution through supervision and teaching activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct clinical services to adult patients within the Integrated Behavioral Health Program in Neurology.
- Delivering evidence-based psychological interventions for patients with neurological disorders, including functional neurological disorders and related conditions.
- Collaborating closely with neurologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Supervising psychology trainees and other learners, including a psychology fellow, within the clinical setting.
- Participating in educational activities that support the training mission of the Departments of Psychiatry, Family Medicine, and Neurology.
The ideal candidate will have experience providing evidence-based psychological care to medically complex populations and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in integrated specialty medical settings. Experience with neurological populations, functional neurological disorders, health psychology, rehabilitation psychology, or related areas is highly desirable. Candidates must hold a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Health Psychology, Family Psychology, or a related field from an APA-accredited program and be a New York State licensed psychologist prior to start. Experience in clinical supervision, integrated behavioral health, and academic medicine is preferred. Faculty members who demonstrate scholarly productivity and interest may have opportunities to develop research, quality improvement, educational scholarship, or program development initiatives related to integrated care, neurological populations, medical education, healthcare delivery, or health equity.
