Contract The successful candidate will: In the Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD, the faculty and staff are dedicated to creating a positive learning environment that recognizes all students' unique needs and talents by integrating character education with a critical-thinking curriculum. The emphasis is on teaching the whole child to become a lifelong learner, best prepared for college, career, and beyond.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS
Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, student observations, and diagnostic assessments for children across grades K-12 exhibiting a wide range of abilities and learning styles Write clear, compliant, and comprehensive psychological reports that translate complex psychometric data into actionable classroom recommendations Facilitate CSE, CPSE, and 504 meetings, guiding multi-disciplinary teams through eligibility determinations, accommodations, and program placements Design and execute Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of challenging classroom behaviors Formulate and monitor evidence-based Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) to support student emotional regulation and maximize instructional time Actively participate in Child Study and Intervention Team meetings, bringing collaborative problem-solving insight to pre-referral cases Collect and interpret student and classroom data to accurately assess educational progress and evaluate environmental impacts on learning Implement Response to Intervention (RTI) protocols, leveraging robust data collection methods to guide multi-tiered academic and behavioral interventions Maintain meticulous records of students' special education reports, progress monitoring metrics, and services provided Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) is preferred Maintain a safe, supportive learning environment Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or her designee
Requirements:
NYSED Certification as School Psychologist Experience in a K-12 setting is preferred Ability to facilitate CSE, CPSE, and 504 meetings and make decisions that are in the best interest of the students
