Full-Time | School-Based Position We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and collaborative School Psychologist to provide psychological services to children and support families, teachers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. The School Psychologist will be responsible for conducting psychological and behavioral evaluations, providing counseling and therapeutic services as appropriate, supporting the development and implementation of individualized programs, and providing consultation and training to staff and families. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment and behavioral support skills, experience working with children, and the ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators, therapists, and other professionals. Essential Responsibilities Conduct formal individual psychological evaluations. Provide play therapy in accordance with a child's IEP, as applicable. Conduct individualized behavioral assessments as needed. Observe children in classroom environments to assist with functional behavioral assessments and the development of behavioral intervention plans. Provide individual and/or group counseling to parents and families as needed. Meet with parents and teachers to explain and interpret evaluation results and provide recommendations. Participate in staff conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings to exchange information and provide recommendations related to evaluations, IEPs, IFSPs, behavioral needs, and educational programming. Train staff responsible for implementing behavioral intervention plans in areas including data collection, behavior support strategies, and principles of reinforcement. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, administrators, and other professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team. Provide consultation to staff and outside agencies in a professional and collaborative manner to support effective programming and positive working relationships. Conduct workshops and training sessions for staff and parents as needed. Maintain required logs, documentation, and reports. Review and evaluate psychological, intellectual, and adaptive behavior assessment materials and testing instruments. Participate in department meetings, staff meetings, trainings, conferences, committees, and special projects as needed. Maintain positive and professional working relationships with administration, staff, children, and families. Follow all school policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master's degree in School Psychology required. New York State Certification as a School Psychologist and/or eligibility for New York State certification or licensure required. Experience working with children preferred. Experience in early childhood, special education, behavioral assessment, or school-based settings preferred. Strong assessment, consultation, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Strong knowledge of behavioral assessment and intervention strategies preferred. Physical Requirements Must be capable of lifting and assisting a child weighing up to 45 pounds as needed. Why Join Us?
