Adequate to exchange informationEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts extensive psychological and/or educational examinations of referred students. Participates in conferences when referred students are involved, or as requested. Serves as a resource person for school personnel concerning all types of disabilities. Interprets diagnoses to school personnel, other concerned professionals, parents and students. Makes recommendations on ways to assist a student referred to him/her for examination. Conducts functional behavior assessments. Provides school-based interventions such as assisting schools with problems which have been addressed by the staff with minimal success. Provides individual and group counseling with students that have been determined by the counselor to have a serious level of problems requiring more experienced counseling techniques. Some cases may be referred to other agencies. Serves as a member of the crisis intervention team and provides appropriate services as necessary. Provides in-service to school staff on a variety of topics related to the psychological needs or disturbances of students. Participates in continuing education through workshops and training with a focus on children and families. Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.Position Type:
