This position is split between two districts; employment is considered to be full-time through .
Pay:
Base Salary, 15%
Stipend of Base Salary, and Benefits Site:
Districtwide/office out of Central Administration Services Building and Berryhill Public Schools

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The School Psychologist is directly responsible for the psychological assessment of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving and standardized evaluations. The School Psychologist monitors the completion of case study evaluations and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences and problem-solving meetings, designing systems, programs, and services that maximize students' social, emotional, and educational success. In collaboration with staff, families, students, and communities, the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must have current state certification as a School Psychologist, NCSP preferred. 2. Knowledge of assessment methods; systematic processes to collect data, translate assessment results into empirically-based decisions about service delivery, and evaluate outcomes of services. 3. Knowledge of learning processes, appropriate instructional interventions to meet students' needs, and the ability to implement and assess their effectiveness. 4. Knowledge of behavioral mental health, collaborative and/or consultation models and methods, and their application. 5. Must pass an OSBI background check.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1.
Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results for students and participate in IEP conferences, team meetings, and problem-solving meetings. 2. Monitor completion of case study evaluations and participate in IEP conferences and problem-solving meetings. 3. Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide insight into the development of functional assessments and behavior intervention plans. 4. Integrate psychological services into the classroom environment as appropriate. 5. Assist staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students. 6. Evaluate and/or translate research into practice and understand research design and statistics in sufficient depth to plan and conduct investigations and program evaluations to improve services. 7. Contribute to program development that furthers the integration of social, coping, and problem-solving in the classroom. 8. Provide support services to parents/guardians as needed. 9. Coordinate and/or collaborate with various individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families. 10. Provide and/or assist in professional development for staff, parents, and/or community. 11. Participate in professional growth activities yearly. 12. Proficiently use technology to communicate, compile reports, and collect data. 13. Participate in building or program activities and meetings as appropriate.

Physical Requirements:

Intelligence:
Requires the ability to read and follow a variety of instructions on the district, state, and federal websites, as well as a hard copy.
Language Ability:
Requires the ability to read a variety of correspondence. Requires the ability to prepare lessons, reports, etc., using prescribed formats and conforming to all grammar rules.
Verbal Aptitude:
Requires the ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, and give oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must possess the ability to speak to people with poise, voice control, and confidence. Must be able to deliver effective presentations to both small and large audiences.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Knowledge and application of Sand Springs Public School District and departmental policies and procedures
  • Knowledge and application of appropriate teaching strategies and methods
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, the general public, and others having business with the school district
  • Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications and equipment
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Specialized teaching assignments may require additional training and/or certification.
  • Must be able to pass an initial fingerprint and background clearance check and maintain a valid fingerprint clearance card at all times when in the classroom.
  • May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • May be required to work outside normal working hours.
  • May be required to travel to perform work functions.
