No Location CountyNew York Street AddressCapital District Psychiatric Center 75 New Scotland Avenue CityAlbany StateNY Zip Code12208 Job Specifics Duties DescriptionCapital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC) is currently hiring an inpatient Licensed Psychologist for Unit K, one of five adult psychiatric inpatient units at their main campus at 75 New Scotland Avenue in Albany. Unit K is a structured, secure, and therapeutic environment that provides acute, intermediate, or long-term care to approximately 20-24 individuals with severe and complex mental illness that cannot otherwise be safely treated in a community setting. CDPC, a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility, provides inpatient and outpatient treatment and rehabilitation to adults who have been diagnosed with serious mental illness, outpatient treatment services for children and adolescents diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances, and operates adult community residences in the Albany/Capital District area. CDPC is committed to supporting underserved individuals, organizations, and communities along with activities and initiatives to reduce disparities in access, quality, and treatment for underserved populations. Psychologists at CDPC collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to provide individualized treatment to achieve individuals' treatment goals and objectives and ensure continuity of care.
Tasks include:
  • Conducting psychological evaluations, interpreting psychological tests, and diagnosing psychological disorders.
  • Developing and revising treatment plans, interventions, and programs.
  • Conducts and/or supervises individual, group, and family psychotherapy sessions.
  • Maintaining records and documentation consistent with regulatory requirements.
  • Providing supervision and mentorship to doctoral level practicum students and Psychology interns as needed.
Minimum QualificationsCandidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are licensed and currently registered to practice Psychology in New York State. OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Licensed Psychologist eligible list. The salary of $141,413 includes a Geographic Pay Differential ($20,000) and an Increased Hiring Rate ($25,077).
