Job Description

Competencies:

Provide pediatric psychiatric medication services to clients of Waterford Country School's clinically based treatment programs. Primarily Intensive Transitional Treatment Centers (ITTC), a congregate model of care that provides a diverse array of integrated behavioral and mental health treatment and rehabilitative support services for children/youth who have significant and complex emotional and behavioral disorders and their families/caregivers, in partnership with DCF and the broader system of care, as well as the Outpatient Children's Mental Health Clinic (OPCC). The clinic provides compassionate and trauma-informed individual and family therapy, and medication management to children ages 3-18. Duties and Responsibilities Provide on-site and virtual pediatric medication services to clients of Waterford Country School's Outpatient Children's Mental Health Clinic (OPCC) and Intensive Transitional Treatment Centers (ITTC's) Maintain a professional liability insurance policy with at least $1 million in coverage, for service rendered on behalf of Waterford Country School Maintain required educational credentials, licenses, and certifications Provide psychiatric consultation to the staff of OPCC and ITTC's, including staff training activities as time permits Serve as a collaborative member of the treatment team Complete diagnostic assessments, including a comprehensive written evaluation including DSM V diagnoses, and formulate treatment recommendations Conduct medication management appointments and necessary documentation related to medication management appointments Consulting with clinical staff to plan the psychiatric direction of the client's treatment Provide crisis intervention services during the hours you are scheduled to be at WCS, and by phone as needed. To review and sign Physician's Orders as needed Must be credentialed (or eligible) with major insurance companies, including but not limited to CT Medicaid, Anthem BSBC, and Optum-United Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA Privacy rule Maintain knowledge of and follow Agency policies and procedures as contained in the WCS Personnel Handbook, Medication Administration Procedure manual, Medical Program Description departmental manuals and the DCF Handbook. Function as a positive role model for all students and staff at the Waterford Country School. Maintain awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural differences present among clients and staff of WCS and ensure that, through both personal interactions and the development and implementation of Agency programs, cultural needs are respected and supported and the delivery of services and staff functioning is free from any form of cultural, religious, racial or sexual insensitivity or bias. Incumbent will maintain access to and comply with current and ethical professional standards of the discipline in which they are credentialed. Flexible Telework Capability Flexible ability to work remotely as approved by a direct Supervisor, or in the event of a declared weather or other emergency. Telework should be performed in accordance with the Remote Work Policy in the WCS Personnel Handbook.

Qualifications:
Connecticut Licensed APRN.; current DEA registration. Experience in providing medication management to children and teens. Experience with trauma informed care preferred. Proficiency in computer use and programs such as Microsoft Office One Drive and EHR systems. Preferred candidates will have knowledge of best practices standards and DCF Medication Administration regulations and licensing requirements. This is a contract position that will provide 2-6 hours of on-site and/or virtual services per week, as assigned, with the option to added additional hours, providing similar service in other Waterford Country School programs.
