Job Description

About Avita Integrative Care Avita Integrative Care is a boutique emotional health practice located in Teaneck, New Jersey. We provide psychotherapy, mind-body services, and comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. Our practice was built around a simple belief: meaningful assessment should provide more than a diagnosis. It should create clarity, direction, and actionable recommendations that help patients, families, schools, and treatment providers move forward with confidence. As our assessment program continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and thoughtful psychologist who is interested not only in conducting evaluations, but in helping shape and expand a specialized assessment service within a collaborative and clinician-centered practice. We are not seeking someone simply to conduct evaluations. We are seeking a psychologist who is excited by the opportunity to help build a respected assessment program known for clinical excellence, thoughtful diagnostic work, and meaningful community impact. This role is especially well-suited for a psychologist who brings an entrepreneurial mindset: someone who wants to help build referral relationships, shape evaluation offerings, improve assessment workflows, and contribute to the long-term identity of Avita's assessment program. While Avita provides administrative, marketing, and referral-development support, we are looking for a clinician who is energized by helping grow - not simply inherit - a specialty testing caseload. What Makes This Opportunity Different Unlike large healthcare systems or corporate behavioral health organizations, Avita offers a highly collaborative and personalized environment where clinicians have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both patient care and program development. We actively invest in growing our assessment program through physician outreach, therapist referrals, school relationships, community partnerships, and digital marketing. Our goal is to support clinicians in building a sustainable and rewarding specialty practice.
You will have access to:
Administrative support and intake coordination Scheduling assistance Records collection support Testing materials and assessment infrastructure Consultation with experienced clinicians Ongoing professional development opportunities A collegial and relationship-centered practice culture Opportunities for future leadership, supervision, teaching, and program development We value thoughtful clinical judgment and do not impose productivity quotas commonly found in large corporate behavioral health settings. Important Note About Caseload Development While Avita actively invests in marketing, referral development, physician outreach, school relationships, and community partnerships, this position is best suited for psychologists who are interested in actively participating in the growth of their specialty caseload and professional referral network. Successful candidates are typically those who enjoy collaborating with referral sources, engaging with the community, and helping establish a strong reputation for assessment services over time. Common Referrals Include ADHD and executive functioning concerns Autism spectrum evaluations Learning disabilities and academic difficulties Psychoeducational evaluations School accommodation, IEP, and 504 support evaluations Diagnostic clarification Mood, anxiety, and personality-related concerns College and graduate school accommodation evaluations Young adult transitional and executive functioning concerns Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults Conduct ADHD and executive functioning evaluations Conduct psychoeducational and learning disability assessments Conduct autism spectrum evaluations Conduct diagnostic clarification and personality assessments Administer, score, and interpret psychological testing measures Integrate assessment findings into comprehensive written reports Provide feedback sessions to patients and families Develop practical recommendations for treatment, school accommodations, and support services Collaborate with therapists, physicians, schools, and other providers when appropriate Maintain timely completion of documentation and reports Preferred Assessment Experience Experience with some or all of the following:

Qualifications Required:
PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology Licensed Psychologist in New Jersey, or license eligible in the near future Experience conducting psychological assessments and evaluations Strong clinical interviewing, diagnostic, and report-writing skills Ability to conduct evaluations in person at our Teaneck office
Preferred:
Experience with psychoeducational evaluations Experience conducting autism evaluations Experience working with schools and accommodation requests Experience supervising trainees or interest in future supervisory roles Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply Who Thrives Here The strongest candidates for this position are clinicians who: Enjoy assessment work and diagnostic problem solving Take pride in producing thoughtful, high-quality reports Value autonomy while appreciating collaboration Are interested in helping grow a specialty service line Want to contribute to a practice culture focused on clinical excellence See assessment as a meaningful clinical intervention rather than simply a testing process Enjoy building relationships with referral sources and community partners Future Opportunities For psychologists interested in a longer-term role, opportunities may include: Leadership within the assessment program Development of specialized testing tracks Consultation and teaching Supervision of trainees Community and physician outreach initiatives Program and service development Expansion into additional specialty evaluation services Compensation Competitive fee-for-service compensation commensurate with experience, evaluation complexity, and scope of services provided. Compensation structure and earning potential will be discussed during the interview process.
