Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic contract role supporting students' success across multiple grade levels as a licensed School Psychologist in Illinois. This full-time assignment runs from August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with a Monday through Friday schedule, offering an excellent opportunity to broaden your impact and experience in both early childhood and K-12 educational settings. There are two distinct positions available: a part-time (0.6 FTE) Early Childhood focus and a full-time (1.0 FTE) K-4 role.
What You'll Bring:
Valid School Psychologist license in the state of Illinois Strong foundation in special education law and best practices for evaluation Experience conducting comprehensive evaluations and facilitating IEP meetings Exceptional communication skills to support and guide families, colleagues, and community partners Flexibility for travel between multiple preschool sites for the Early Childhood position Commitment to contributing positively to multidisciplinary educational teams
Role Highlights:
Conduct re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, functional behavioral assessments, and some initial evaluations Early Childhood opportunity: Screen and evaluate children transitioning from early intervention, respond to evaluation requests for ages 3-5, and coordinate with various preschool settings K-4 assignment: Evaluate students, facilitate MTSS data team meetings, support the IEP process, and assist teams with problem-solving Foster clear, supportive communication with families—many new to the special education process Attend and facilitate IEP meetings, ensuring collaboration and compliance Collaborate closely with general education partners and special education staff Make a meaningful difference by supporting students at key educational stages Both roles require commitment to in-person work—virtual/remote (VOCO) options are not available.
