Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Embrace a rewarding opportunity supporting students' growth in a K-12 educational setting this upcoming semester. A full-time contract opening is available for a licensed School Psychologist near Chattanooga, TN, from August 4th through the end of December. This position spans 37.5 hours per week across five days, providing impactful services while covering two consecutive maternity leaves. Your expertise will be vital in delivering high-quality assessment, intervention, and counseling services, ensuring that young learners are set up for success during this pivotal term.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
Active state licensure as a School Psychologist Strong background in providing psychological assessments and developing educational plans Previous experience in K-12 schools, ideally at the elementary level Confident communicator, able to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to manage a dynamic caseload and adapt to the needs of diverse student populations Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and relevant state/federal policies
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for elementary students Interpret data and develop recommendations for academic and behavioral interventions Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to foster supportive learning environments Support crisis intervention and response efforts as needed Participate actively in IEP meetings and other multidisciplinary team consultations Maintain thorough records in compliance with district and legal standards As a valued professional, you'll play a key role in shaping positive outcomes for students while benefiting from a stable, structured schedule.
