Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students' success in an educational setting near Hixson, TN. This full-time position spans the first semester from August 4th through the end of December and provides vital school psychologist services during two consecutive maternity leaves. The role offers a steady schedule of 37.5 hours per week, working five days per week, ensuring you can immerse yourself fully within the school environment and help foster positive outcomes for elementary-aged students. Your primary focus will be delivering comprehensive psychological services at an elementary site serving approximately 500 students, supporting academic, social, and emotional development. Collaborate closely with educators, staff, and families to promote well-being and learning in the school community.
Key Qualities & Qualifications:
Valid certification/license required for school psychology in Tennessee Experience working as a school psychologist, preferably in a school setting Strong assessment, intervention, and counseling skills Collaborative approach to partnering with educators and families Ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently Commitment to cultural competency and student advocacy
Role Responsibilities:
Provide direct psychological services, including assessment, counseling, and intervention Conduct evaluations and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents Advocate for inclusive practices and positive student outcomes Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to state and district guidelines This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact while gaining valuable experience in a supportive environment.
