Job Description

Category Schools - Educational Diagnostician Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Educational Diagnostician, where your expertise will impact elementary students' learning journeys. This full-time position is for the next school year, focusing on conducting assessments and evaluations at the elementary level in a vibrant educational setting near Austin, TX. Two diagnostician roles are available, offering professionals the chance to collaborate and drive student success in an inclusive, supportive environment.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Valid Educational Diagnostician certification recognized by the state of Texas Experience working with elementary-age children in a school setting Strong understanding of assessment tools (cognitive, academic, behavioral) Ability to interpret, analyze, and synthesize evaluation results for educational planning Skilled in effective communication with students, teachers, and families Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and best practices Collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations, including cognitive, academic, and behavioral assessments Write detailed evaluation reports and share findings with IEP teams and parents Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to determine eligibility and develop appropriate educational interventions Provide consultation to teachers and staff regarding instructional strategies and accommodations Maintain compliance with state and federal timelines for evaluations and documentation Support positive outcomes for students by tailoring recommendations to meet diverse needs This contract opportunity ensures a consistent, full-time schedule for the next school year and direct involvement in meaningful work that shapes young learners' futures.
