Job Description

REQUIRED
Master's degree in psychology from accredited college or university; Valid Texas license as a licensed specialist in school psychology granted by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists; Experience in providing psychology services in a education setting. or Bachelor's Degree; Valid Texas License as a Licensed School Psychologist, LSP Trainee or LSP Intern status in accordance with all Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP) rules. (LSP Intern must be currently enrolled in a school psychology program and must have completed all relevant coursework prior to internship.) The role of the School Psychologist is to provide knowledge of and able to implement local, state and federal policies and administrative regulations pertaining to educating and training disabled students. The Licensed School Psyschologist must adhere to a strict code of professional ethics regarding confidentiality, respect for family privacy, and the legislative rights of disabled children and youth. The Licensed School Psychologist must be thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently. The Licensed Specialist must be able to employ diagnostic strategies, management procedures, and resources most appropriate for meeting objectives stated in the district's appraisal program. The Licensed School Psychologist must be able to develop behavior management plans and work with district counselors and teachers in implementation of such plans. The Licensed School Pyschologist performs other duties assigned by the Administrator of Special Services pursuant to school board policy.
