Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Embrace the rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact as a School Psychologist in an engaging educational setting near Garland, TX. This full-time, on-site contract position offers a dynamic experience, working closely with students in K-12, with a specific focus on either elementary or middle school (final assignment to be determined). You'll provide essential psychological services, supporting students' academic, behavioral, and emotional development.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid School Psychologist certification (state requirements must be met) Graduate degree in School Psychology or closely related field Experience with K-12 student populations preferred Strong understanding of psychological assessments and counseling techniques Ability to maintain organized documentation and collaborate with education teams Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities Flexibility to work in diverse school environments and adjust to varying caseloads
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct approximately 10 student evaluations per month to identify individual academic and behavioral needs Provide counseling services for 6-8 students (exact numbers based on caseload and grade level) Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop and implement student intervention plans Participate in meetings to support student success, including IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams Maintain timely, thorough records in compliance with state and district guidelines Offer crisis intervention and ongoing support as needed
