Job Type Full time The Perkeybile Lab at the University of Virginia Department of Psychology invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. Our lab explores how life experiences interact with neuroendocrine systems to shape developmental trajectories in social engagement, brain function, and health across the lifespan. Qualification Requirements:
Candidates must have received their PhD in psychology, neuroscience, biology, or a closely related field by the appointment start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with small animal research is strongly preferred, including training in animal behavior quantification, immunohistochemistry, RIA/EIA measures of endocrine markers, receptor autoradiography, qPCR, and experience working in prenatal and early postnatal development models. Experience supervising and mentoring undergraduate research assistants in the lab. The candidate must have strong leadership, organizational and project management skills. The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to aid in ongoing research in the lab and also pursue independent research interests, write research papers, apply for independent funding, and help mentor students in the lab.
