Senior Research Staff & Post-doctoral Fellow Investigator (holding the title of Educational Psychologist) in the Department of Psychology (Ref.: 535002) (to commence in September 2026, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability). Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will serve as the Director or Associate Director in a large-scale, mental health, and well-being project for primary schools in Hong Kong, under the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences. The appointee will be responsible for overseeing and directing strategic implementation of the project, requiring specialised knowledge and independent professional judgement, with major tasks including: Overseeing all the administrative, professional, and research aspects of the project Devising and implementing a mindfulness-based social-emotional curriculum for primary school students, as well as the corresponding train-the-trainer curriculum for primary school educators Developing and implementing a mindfulness-based positive parenting programme for parents Providing consultation and ongoing professional support to educators and parents to promote students' well-being Organising and delivering training sessions and workshops for educators, parents, and students Planning and implementing public education initiatives Preparing research reports and non-technical documents Performing any other duties as assigned Requirements The appointment (Investigator) will be offered based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant.
The appointee should possess:
a master's or doctoral degree in Educational Psychology or a related discipline, with at least six years of relevant work experience strong quantitative research skills in the social sciences a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese & Putonghua) training and experience in teaching mindfulness and positive education to both children and adults are preferred relevant work experience in a school setting is required a Postgraduate Diploma in Education is preferred What We Offer A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
