Senior Research Staff & Post-doctoral Fellow We now invite applications for the captioned post. Research Officer/Assistant Research Officer in the Department of Psychology (Ref.: 536286) Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible for the research and implementation of a large-scale mental health and well-being project for primary schools in Hong Kong under the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences.
Major tasks include:
Devising and designing research studies and evaluation frameworks. Implementing research activities and programme evaluation. Collecting and analysing data. Preparing technical research reports. Coordinating a team of research staff and interns. Performing administrative tasks supporting the research-cum-intervention project. Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements The appointee should possess:
A Ph.D. or MPhil degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related discipline. A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Strong research skills in Psychology or Social Sciences. Proficiency in advanced statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, or Python), as well as MS Excel and Chinese typing. Experience in the implementation of community or educational research projects will be an advantage. Proven ability to supervise junior researchers and research assistants. Demonstrated leadership in managing and coordinating a research team to achieve project objectives. What We Offer The appointment will commence in September 2026, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary for Assistant Research Officer and 15% for Research Officer, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment (at the rank of Research Officer or Assistant Research Officer) will be offered based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant.
