A full-time opportunity is available for a qualified School Psychologist eager to make a meaningful impact in school communities near Newport News, VA, serving schools in the Gloucester area. This contract position offers an immediate start or the chance to join for the 2026-2027 school year, and provides the support of a collaborative, student-focused environment.
S., or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program Active Virginia School Psychologist license/certification, or eligibility to obtain by start date Strong skills in communication, assessment, and professional consultation Capable of working effectively within multidisciplinary teams Previous school-based experience is a plus—however, applications from qualified new graduates are encouraged! Responsibilities include:
Performing psychoeducational evaluations and comprehensive student assessments Interpreting assessment results and preparing detailed evaluation documentation Participating in eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings Collaborating closely with educators, administrators, families, and related service providers Consulting on academic, behavioral, and mental health interventions to promote student well-being SupportingMTSS/RTI
initiatives with evidence-based, data-driven decision-making Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations Actively fostering positive learning spaces supporting the success of all students Preferred qualifications: Master's, Ed.S., or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program Active Virginia School Psychologist license/certification, or eligibility to obtain by start date Strong skills in communication, assessment, and professional consultation Capable of working effectively within multidisciplinary teams Previous school-based experience is a plus—however, applications from qualified new graduates are encouraged!
