Job Summary:
Provides psychological evaluations, direct therapeutic services and consultative mental healthcare services to individuals, families and treatment teams.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Advises on population health related matters for target population (seen as content expert for this population of patients in the health system). Collaborates with medical professionals when needs of the patient/family dictate. Conducts and interprets diagnostic tests. Contributes to overall Behavioral Health quality of care by coordinating services and initiating and participating in quality of care improvement measures and procedures. Discusses school accommodations when indicated, access advocacy resources when needed. Documents patient care in the medical record according to federal, state, and agency guidelines. Establishes differential diagnosis, develop appropriate treatment plan and monitor response accordingly. Refer patient and family for psychotherapy as indicated, as well as to other SSM Health and community resources. Formulates, executes and reviews healthcare education delivered to patients and families. Offers supervision of psychometricians, LPC's and psychologists as needed for delivery of psychological evaluations. Participates in developing policies and healthcare reforms, improve service quality, and practice evaluation. Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and evaluations. Performs clinical history and psychological assessment, risk factor assessment, psychiatric diagnostic assessment utilizing assessment tools as indicated. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Doctorate in Psychology or related field
EXPERIENCE
Two years' experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent reaching, sitting, standing and walking. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more). Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. Frequent keyboard use/data entry. Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, twisting and gripping. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors. Occasional driving. Rare repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements and squatting.
