Qualifications:
Registered or certified Radiation Therapist Valid, current Radiation Therapy license as required by state regulations Completion of accredited Radiation Therapy technology program Proven experience operating linear accelerators and related equipment Detailed knowledge of radiation safety policies and dosimetry Strong communication skills for patient interaction, education, and support Ability to collaborate with physicians, dosimetrists, and other care team members BLS (Basic Life Support) certification recommended
Responsibilities:
Administer accurate, physician-prescribed radiation treatments to oncology patients Review and interpret treatment plans, verifying doses and positioning Ensure strict compliance with quality assurance, radiation safety, and infection control protocols Monitor patient responses throughout the course of treatment, reporting concerns to physicians and clinical staff Document treatments and maintain thorough records in accordance with facility and regulatory standards Provide clear explanations and emotional support to patients and families, addressing questions and concerns Participate in continuing education and equipment training as necessary
