Key Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (T) Valid state licensure as a Radiation Therapist Recent experience using linear accelerators and delivering external beam radiation Proficient in treatment planning, simulation, and setup verification Strong understanding of safety procedures, radiation physics, and oncology protocols Excellent communication and patient education skills Ability to work collaboratively with oncologists, physicists, and the multidisciplinary team
Role Responsibilities:
Administer prescribed radiation treatment to patients according to physician's instructions and departmental protocols Accurately position patients and operate treatment equipment with a focus on safety and comfort Collaborate with dosimetrists and medical physicists to ensure accurate treatment delivery Monitor patient reactions, meticulously document treatments, and report any changes or concerns Participate in patient education, answering questions to ease anxiety and provide clear instructions Adhere to infection control and safety policies at all times Maintain detailed records of therapy sessions and update EMR systems as required Working in this dynamic clinical setting provides valuable experience and the chance to make a difference for every patient.
