Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Radiation Therapist in California, where you will play a vital role in delivering precise and compassionate radiation treatments to patients. This full-time, permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize advanced medical imaging and radiation therapy techniques, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. You will collaborate closely with oncologists, radiologists, and medical physicists to develop and execute individualized treatment plans while adhering to the highest standards of radiation safety and patient care. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving lives through innovative cancer treatment solutions in a fast-paced, supportive environment. Duties Administer external beam radiation therapy using linear accelerators, ensuring accurate delivery aligned with detailed treatment plans. Operate advanced medical imaging equipment such as CT scanners for simulation and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), enhancing treatment precision. Assist in radiation treatment planning by collaborating with medical physicists and radiation oncologists to optimize dose distribution and minimize exposure to healthy issues. Monitor patients throughout their treatment sessions, assessing physiological responses and adjusting procedures as necessary based on physiology knowledge and critical care experience. Maintain meticulous records within electronic health records (EHR) systems, documenting treatment details, patient responses, and equipment usage in compliance with radiation safety procedures. Implement radiation safety protocols diligently, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and protecting patients, staff, and the environment from unnecessary exposure. Conduct CT simulation procedures for accurate tumor localization, supporting effective external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) delivery including advanced techniques like intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). Requirements Valid certification as a Radiation Therapist with licensure or registration required by state regulations in California. Proven experience operating linear accelerators and medical imaging devices such as CT scanners for simulation purposes. Strong knowledge of radiation physics, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and radiation safety procedures. Prior experience with image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), IMRT, and external beam radiation therapy techniques. Familiarity with medical software systems used for treatment planning and electronic health records (EHR) management. Critical care or acute care experience is highly desirable to effectively monitor patient responses during treatments. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced healthcare setting while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety standards.
