San Luis Obispo, CA Position Overview We're seeking a skilled and dependable Radiation Therapist to join our team in San Luis Obispo, CA. The ideal candidate is committed to providing safe, precise, and compassionate patient care while working independently and exercising sound clinical judgment. The Radiation Therapist will perform routine and specialized radiation treatments in accordance with physician-developed treatment plans while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy. This role also involves operating advanced radiation therapy equipment, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized radiation therapy treatments according to physician-developed treatment plans. Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout treatment while ensuring comfort and safety. Operate and maintain TrueBeam radiation therapy equipment. Assist physicians with radiation therapy and simulation procedures. Maintain accurate patient records, treatment documentation, and equipment logs. Educate patients on procedures and provide compassionate, professional care. Follow radiation safety standards, including ALARA, and all applicable regulations and protocols. Perform equipment quality control and report malfunctions or safety concerns. Maintain a clean, safe treatment environment. Assist with mentoring and orienting students and new staff as needed. Requirements Current ARRT (T) certification. Current BLS certification. Current CRT certification. Strong knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and radiation safety standards. Experience operating radiation therapy equipment. Ability to work independently while exercising sound clinical judgment. Strong communication and patient-care skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Preferred Experience TrueBeam Radiation therapy simulation and treatment procedures Electronic Health Records (EHR) Quality control and radiation safety procedures Ideal Candidate Experienced and confident in delivering routine and specialized radiation therapy treatments. Compassionate, patient-focused, and detail-oriented. Dependable and capable of working independently. Skilled in operating and maintaining complex radiation therapy equipment. Committed to radiation safety, accuracy, and high-quality patient care. Comfortable mentoring students and new therapists when needed. Interested?
