Job Description

A hospital in Ottumwa, Iowa is seeking a junior-level Radiation Therapist to join its radiation oncology services team. This is a fully on-site, in-person position with no remote work option. Candidates must be able to report to the facility location on a regular basis. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this role. The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for the safe and precise delivery of radiation therapy treatments to patients under the direction of a radiation oncologist. Daily duties follow established clinical protocols, including patient positioning, equipment operation, and thorough documentation consistent with standard radiation therapy practice within a hospital setting. This is a strong opportunity for an early-career therapist looking to grow within a dedicated oncology team. Key Responsibilities Deliver radiation therapy treatments safely and accurately as prescribed by the radiation oncologist Position patients correctly and consistently according to treatment protocols Operate and monitor radiation therapy equipment throughout each session Maintain detailed and accurate treatment documentation for every patient encounter Follow established clinical protocols and radiation safety standards at all times Communicate with the care team to support coordinated and effective treatment delivery Ensure patient comfort and safety during each phase of the treatment process Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program required ARRT registration required Current Iowa Permit to Practice Radiation Therapy required, including 24 hours of continuing education within a two-year period Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required
