Job Description

Category Radiation Therapy Job Type Contract Step into a key clinical role providing top-tier radiation therapy within a modern, well-equipped cancer center. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic outpatient clinic environment, treating a diverse patient population across two advanced treatment units, with daily caseloads averaging 64-68 patients. As a Radiation Therapist, your expertise will directly support patient care and therapeutic outcomes in a collaborative oncology setting.
Schedule/Hours:
Typical clinic hours, with coverage needed on weekdays Guaranteed hours exclude closure days for holidays
Qualifications:
Current certification in Radiation Therapy from the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Valid IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) Radiation credential Proven experience working in mid- to large-sized hospitals or cancer centers Familiarity with Varian Edge/Aria systems highly preferred Ability to manage high daily patient volumes independently and effectively multitask Strong organizational and communication skills required
Key Responsibilities:
Administer prescribed radiation treatments with precision, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times Operate Varian Edge/Aria treatment units, accurately following clinical protocols Collaborate closely with physicians, dosimetrists, and oncology nurses to support integrated patient care Maintain meticulous treatment records and patient documentation Educate patients and families on procedures and address questions to alleviate concerns Troubleshoot and report any technical issues with equipment or workflow efficiently Uphold all safety procedures and regulatory compliance standards This contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of cancer patients, leveraging your expertise in a respected clinical environment.
