Provide radiation therapy services to cancer patients as directed by an authorized user (radiation oncology physician) in accordance with the established standards of the department.
Essential Duties :
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. Delivers accurately the prescribed planned course of radiation therapy in accordance with the radiation oncologist written directive and maintains legible and accurate records of daily treatment as required. Performs radiation simulations procedures and observes patients for unusual reactions and/or events. Performs procedures related to physics/dosimetry with and without supervision of the physicist and/or dosimetrist. Follows all mandated departmental radiation safety, emergency, and hazardous materials procedures. Reports and records equipment deficiencies to the Manager and/or Bio-Medical Engineering. Responsible for supervision, instruction and education of students. Attends departmental meetings and conferences. Assists in nursing related functions as necessary. Responsible for coordination of work flow to accommodate quality patient care and patient treatments. Job Requirements General Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Radiation Therapy American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered. Work Experience
  • None Education
  • JRCERT accredited radiation therapy program graduate. Specialized Knowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to work as a team member.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently as needed.
