Details Hospital-based Radiation Oncology department Clinic operates 6:00a-6:00p with shift times varying within those hours 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 40 hours weekly Elekta equipment experience preferred No weekends or on-call required Must be able to work UNC holidays if needed Requirements Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiation Therapy Technologist program ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy required License required if applicable Additional Information Administer radiation therapy according to physician instructions and patient treatment plans Enter data and adjust equipment controls to regulate dosage Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists with treatment plan preparation Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered Maintain patient and billing records including dosages, equipment settings, and patient reactions Perform routine and complex treatments such as total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and brachytherapy Prepare equipment and treatment rooms for patients Follow safety protocols and use protective equipment appropriately Perform quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines Provide clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists
