1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Radiation Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment at an oncology radiation therapy department in Santa Fe, NM, with ARRT certification and at least 1 year of clinical experience required. Details Oncology Radiation Therapy department within a cancer center setting Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Adult and geriatric oncology patient population Modalities include IMRT, LDR, and HDR 13-week contract Requirements Active New Mexico Radiation Therapist license required (license required if applicable) Current ARRT certification required Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification required Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience required; 2-5 years preferred Graduate of a CAHEA-accredited radiology program or equivalent IMRT and LDR/HDR experience preferred Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Additional Information Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments accurately, ensuring dose prescriptions and signed consent forms are complete prior to initiating treatment Prepare treatment rooms and equipment including immobilization devices, field sizing, and lead protection devices Assist in tumor localization procedures and ensure localization and portal verification films are reviewed by the Radiation Oncologist Perform simulation procedures including patient positioning, diagnostic film acquisition, and proper film filing Observe and report unusual patient reactions, treatment errors, and equipment malfunctions to the Radiation Oncologist and Physicist Participate in Quality Assurance management activities such as weekly SSD checks and diode readings under the direction of the Physicist Rotate on-call and weekend duty as specified by department policy Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a radius rule; local candidates are not automatically accepted for every position
