Details Hospital-based Radiation Oncology department at a major academic medical center in Oregon Adult and pediatric oncology patient population External beam therapy, IMRT, SRS, TBI, TSEB, respiratory gating, and prostate cancer with seeds/fiducials among treatment modalities CT simulation experience is a core requirement of this role Patient ratio of 1:2 Uses Epic for electronic medical records (experience required) Uses Varian ARIA/Vision for record and verify; Eclipse (Varian) and RayStation treatment planning systems Treatment units include TrueBeam, Elekta Versa HD, HexaPOD, and Vision RT Variable day shifts alternating between 4x10-hour (9:00-20:30) and 5x8-hour (6:00-15:30) schedules No on-call or floating within the Radiation Oncology department; candidates may be asked to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital 13-week contract Requirements Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience required ARRT (T) and BLS (AHA only; RQI not accepted) required; ARRT (R) preferred OBMI certification required Strong CT simulation background required Active Oregon state license required if applicable Epic EMR experience required COVID vaccination required — no exemptions Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required for consideration Full date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration Work history covering the last 7 years, including city, state, dates of employment, and PTO periods, required for consideration Relias exam score of 85% or higher required AHA BLS card required (traditional AHA format only) Copies of certifications required for consideration Additional Information Administer radiation therapy treatments as prescribed and planned by the physician, ensuring accurate reproduction of each treatment Perform machine safety checks, warm-up procedures, QA, and monitor patients during treatment using audible and visual methods Construct immobilization devices and custom blocking techniques; utilize sophisticated imaging equipment for precise tumor localization Maintain the electronic treatment record including side effects, incidents, SSDs, and changes to treatment setup Train, mentor, and directly supervise radiation therapy students Teaching hospital experience preferred; academic medical center setting Candidates who are former employees or previous travelers at this facility must have been gone at least 6 months before returning RTO must be disclosed upfront and may not exceed 2 weeks total for the contract Non-billable orientation modules (averaging approximately 2.25 hours for Allied professionals) must be completed prior to start Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction First-time travelers are not confirmed to be accepted; check with your recruiter for details
