Job Description

Bachelor's degree, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years Radiation Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Advanced radiation therapy expertise is essential for delivering precise, compassionate patient care in this contract opportunity located in Little River, SC. This role requires skilled administration of therapeutic doses of ionizing radiation using state-of-the-art linear accelerators, Tomotherapy units, or proton therapy systems, adhering strictly to oncologists' prescriptions and radiation safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer daily prescribed radiation therapy doses accurately and safely. Position patients precisely in accordance with treatment plans. Utilize treatment software to record and verify radiation dosages. Educate and support patients and their families by answering questions, preparing them for procedures, and reinforcing physicians' guidance regarding treatment effects and care. Adhere to radiation protection principles to safeguard patients, self, and coworkers. Maintain a professional, compassionate demeanor that aligns with service excellence standards. Contribute to the education and training of radiation therapy students. Pursue ongoing professional development through goal-setting and participation in educational programs. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Valid certification and licensure as a Radiation Therapist. Proficiency in operating linear accelerators, Tomotherapy, or proton therapy equipment. Strong knowledge of radiation safety and protection protocols. Excellent communication skills to provide patient education and emotional support. Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and service excellence. Experience in supporting student training is a plus.
