Job Description
As an Associate Special Procedure Technologist at Mercy, you will support interventional and diagnostic procedures within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. Working alongside experienced technologists, nurses, and physicians, you'll help prepare procedure rooms, position patients, and operate imaging equipment under supervision while adhering to strict safety and sterile standards. You'll document in the EHR, assist with contrast and supplies, and contribute to high quality, compassionate care. Responsibilities Assist Special Procedure Technologists and physicians during interventional and diagnostic procedures Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies, ensuring adherence to sterile and safety protocols Position and monitor patients, verifying identification, consent, and comfort throughout procedures Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment under supervision, following radiation safety guidelines Document procedures in the EHR and ensure accurate imaging records and charge capture Collaborate with nurses, technologists, and physicians to coordinate efficient patient workflow Monitor patient status, report changes promptly, and assist with basic post procedure care Maintain equipment cleanliness, quality control logs, and regulatory compliance standards Support emergency situations within the department by preparing equipment and assisting clinical staff Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives aligned with Mercy's standards Required Skills Fluoroscopy operation Radiologic imaging protocols Patient positioning Radiation safety and ALARAContrast media administration support Sterile technique Vital signs monitoring Electronic Health Records (EHR) Cross sectional anatomy knowledge Emergency response support
