Position Summary The Lead MRI Technologist is responsible for overseeing daily workflow and performing duties directly involved with a variety of MRI technical procedures applying ionizing radiation. Oversees daily workflow of MRI technologists and non-technical staff as assigned and appropriate on assigned work shift. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job Coordinates patient scheduling and patient flow to ensure patients are seen in a timely and medically efficient manner. Evaluates and attends to patients' physical and emotional needs before, during, and after examinations to ensure proper patient care and a positive examination experience. Operates MRI scanners at a proficient level with technical detail, without requiring constant supervision. Adapts MRI scanning parameters to meet the needs of the radiologist. Oversees the operation of computer software programs and supports system maintenance, upgrades, and protocol revisions. Assists with training of student technologists and newly hired staff to provide education, instruction, and orientation in assigned areas of responsibility. Adheres to department and Medical Center policies and procedures to ensure legal, ethical, and professional practice standards. Utilizes Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and related interfaces as required to support automated patient care goals. Instructs medical personnel as needed to ensure MRI safety guidelines are followed. Be at work and be on time. Follow company policies, procedures and directives. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Qualifications/Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years' Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologist experience preferred. Minimum 2 years' lead or supervisory experience preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Bachelor's degree preferred. Completion of an educational program in Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT, MR) and/or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
