Job Description

General Summary of the
Job:
This position is responsible for taking radiological images and pushing the images through the system.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for operating the medical equipment used to capture x-ray images. Positioning the patient and the equipment in a way that protects patient and employee safety. Detailed knowledge of x-ray procedures and the ability to explain the procedures to patients. Must follow regulations for protecting patients, coworkers and themselves from unnecessary exposure to radiation from the equipment and environment. Expectations Maintain confidentiality. Follow the chain of commands. Prioritize tasks by level of importance to meet deadlines. Complete tasks in a timely manner. Education and Experience High School Diploma required. California Limited Technologist (LT) license with skull license required Basic computer skills required. Experience in an Orthopedic Practice preferred.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
Knowledge of compliance regulations set by state, federal and local law. Understanding of EPM/EHR system.
Skills:
Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making. Skill in analyzing, planning, organization, and prioritization. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships. Skill in verbal and written communication.
Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret medical documents. Ability to set priorities among multiple requests. Ability to interact easily and effectively with others. Ability to share expertise and knowledge with staff to maintain and improve workflow. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients and/or co-workers. Equipment Operated Standard office equipment including computers, iPad, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving, mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. There is a combination of office and clinical settings. Mental/Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulder level and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb; or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds, with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Requires working under stressful conditions. Some travel to satellite offices and meetings is required.
