Job Description

  • Job Summary and Responsibilities
  • As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.
Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction. To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses. +
Clinical Competency:
Performs routine diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with department standards and in keeping with the orders of the referring physicianPerforms fluoroscopy/minor special procedures in accordance with department standards and in keeping with the orders of the referring physicianDemonstrates competence in film-processing proceduresDemonstrates appropriate administering and monitoring of radiopaque material per Marian Medical Center standardsPlaces orders in the HIS system, making all additions, corrections, and cancellations as necessaryIdentifies and initiates accurate assessment of life-threatening conditions +
Patient Care:
Interviews patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as requiredTransfers and positions patients. +
Department Support:
Participates in departmental meetings, in-services and committeesResponds to changes in work schedule as necessary. Takes evening, weekend and holiday standby on a rotating basisPerforms other duties as necessaryTroubleshoots equipment and cooperates with service personnel in order to maintain minimal down time. Responsible for initiating service on all equipment assigned to the area. +
Safety:
Practices radiation safety in accordance with Marian Medical Center policies and procedures.
