Duties Operate radiologic imaging equipment including X-ray machines, fluoroscopy units, CT scanners, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, and nuclear medicine devices with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the exam. Implement radiation safety procedures diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself during all imaging activities. Conduct diagnostic evaluations across various settings such as urgent care, emergency rooms, and Level I or Level II trauma centers. Assist with specialized imaging procedures including interventional radiology, angiography, fluoroscopy-guided interventions, and nuclear medicine studies. Maintain accurate documentation of procedures performed and ensure all equipment is properly calibrated and maintained for optimal performance. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care while demonstrating strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles. Qualifications Proven experience operating radiologic imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, mammography units, DEXA scans, PET scans or nuclear medicine devices. Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation safety protocols effectively. Prior experience working in urgent care settings or emergency rooms; Level I or Level II trauma center experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with advanced imaging techniques including interventional radiography and fluoroscopy. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation processes. Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT certification preferred) or equivalent licensure where applicable. Ability to operate medical imaging equipment safely while maintaining aseptic technique and patient confidentiality.
