Job Summary:

The Radiology Technologist provides competent and skilled assistance to the physician while providing all aspects of diagnostic radiological studies, consistently producing the highest quality exams possible.

Technical Competency:

Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge required for success in the environment Possesses necessary knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the human body as well as the ability to recognize abnormal conditions. Performs radiology exams using good placement judgment in scanning, photographing, and documenting. Demonstrates competency in handling radiographic equipment, correct exposure, and location. Assists physicians with invasive procedures requiring radiographic imaging in an outpatient setting. Possesses vocabulary of imaging techniques, association by recognition, and understands functional applications. Maintains the sterile field and acts appropriately with the corrective action when sterility has functional applications. Astute awareness of rapidly changing work environment conditions that require rapid intervention and appropriate action. Manages competing demands based on thorough investigation or under the direction of the physician. Able to read and interpret technical written information or instructions and apply them to operate equipment safely. Methodically applies rational thought to practices that ensure the environment of safety for the patient when radiation is present. Consistently applies hand hygiene practices and other aseptic techniques before, during, and after administering direct patient care. Protects patient's privacy during direct patient care and demonstrates an understanding of HIPAA ruling PHI.

Qualifications:

Satisfactory completion from the Radiological Technology School or within four months of completion. ARRT (active), registry eligible. One year of Radiology Technologist experience preferred.
