General Description:
The Radiology Technologist Assistant reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging. Employee performs pre-screening safety and history patient assessments, prepares patient for scan, and assists Technologists with procedure flow. Employee also collates patient prior records with procedure being performed before entering data into PACS. This staff has access to medication storage areas, and may receive, deliver, and store medications ONLY. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducts patient pre-procedure phone interviews for questions that are present, instructions on procedure preparation, pertinent medical history, and brief explanation of what to expect. Reviews patient safety sheets and checklist with patient prior to exam. Follows up with physician offices or hospitals as safety questions arise that need further follow-up. Prepares and collates patient documentation for technologist and radiologist and scans into PACS. Assists patient with gowning procedures. Assists technologist in getting patient onto scan table. Obtains outside correlation studies or reports from other facilities as needed. Transports patients as per Hospital Policy. May be utilized at offsite facilities. Performs similar or related duties as assigned. Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area.
Requirements:
Formal Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Work experience:
1 year to 2 years preferred
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
