Job Description
Position Summary:
MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO CLINICS IN ST. PETERSBURG, BRANDON AND TRINITY AS NEEDED.
The PET/CT Technologist coordinates and produces high quality diagnostic imaging of the oncology patient by utilizing proper equipment, computers, and established techniques in a manner that promotes optimal treatment planning. Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, etc., and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients. Produce high quality diagnostic images. Troubleshoot the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment as needed.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic PET/CT and computed tomography examinations to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care to include: injection of radiopharmaceutical, protocol setup, patient positioning, reconstruction and network image transfers.
- Provide protection for patient and self in accordance with radiation safety standards.
- Assist with the workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments.
- Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and competency in clinical area of the practice.
- Demonstrate the ability to use all channels of communication to address inter-and intradepartmental concerns, solve problems, and address conflict.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills and Abilities:
- PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine experience is required.
- CNMT or ARRT(N) is required.
- Florida State licensure required.
- CPR certification required.
- IV skills required.
- Operate independently.
- Shows empathy and compassion.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an approved School for Radiologic Technology.
- Nuclear Medical Technician Certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in PET/CT.
- Must be in good standing with all CE and license requirements.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain seated or standing in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
- Good manual dexterity required to use common office and radiographic machinery.
