Job Description

Maui Diagnostic Imaging (MDI) is a leading provider of diagnostic imaging services on the island of Maui. As we continue to expand our services, we are looking for a dedicated Mammography Technologist to join our team. Position Overview:
As a Mammography Technologist , you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography exams and ensuring that all procedures are conducted in a safe, compassionate, and professional manner. You will evaluate patients' histories and symptoms, assist with patient positioning, and provide clear instructions to patients regarding the procedure. Your role will involve a combination of patient interaction, technical proficiency, and adherence to clinical protocols to ensure the best possible care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate the patient's medical history and symptoms to ensure clinical criteria for the procedure are met. Assist patients in dressing for the exam and provide support to ensure their physical well-being while transporting them to and from the exam room. Position patients for the exam with comfort and precision, ensuring proper technique and accuracy. Communicate effectively with patients and their families to explain the procedures, answer questions, and assess the patient's ability to tolerate the exam.
Exam Preparation and Verification:
Review the patient's requisition/chart for priority, date, physician's notes, comments, precautions, and consent forms. Verify all necessary documentation and ensure any special instructions are followed.
Mammography Procedure:
Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography examinations using Siemens Mammomat Digital Tomography equipment according to exam protocols. Ensure that all exams are performed in a timely manner while adhering to the highest standards of safety and patient care. Document and report any technical issues or concerns with the equipment.
Quality Control:
Maintain and monitor equipment and workspace to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness for patient use. Adhere to all radiation safety protocols, ensuring the lowest possible radiation dose is used while still achieving optimal image quality.
Collaboration:
Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and the rest of the healthcare team to ensure accurate and timely interpretation of results. Participate in continuous learning and development opportunities to stay up-to-date on advances in mammography technology and protocols.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. ARRT-M Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Mammography) required. ARRT-R Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography) required. 8 hours of Digital Tomography Training (specific to Siemens Mammomat) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with digital mammography technology. Strong understanding of mammography protocols, patient positioning, and safety standards.
Experience:
Ability to perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams.
Personal Attributes:
Compassionate, patient-centered approach with the ability to provide emotional support to patients during the exam process. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
