Position Overview:
As an X-ray Technologist at MDI, you will play a critical role in performing a variety of diagnostic X-ray exams while ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our patients. Your technical expertise and patient care skills will contribute to accurate diagnoses and high-quality imaging results. You will work in collaboration with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide top-notch care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Support:
Position and prepare patients for X-ray exams, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process. Provide clear instructions to patients about the procedure, addressing any questions or concerns. Monitor patients during the procedure to ensure their comfort and assist them as needed.
Performing X-ray Exams:
Operate diagnostic X-ray equipment to capture high-quality images for diagnostic interpretation. Follow established protocols to ensure the accuracy and quality of the images obtained. Ensure proper positioning of patients to produce clear and diagnostic images.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and the healthcare team to ensure timely and accurate results. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining procedures and alleviating any concerns.
Quality Control & Safety:
Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and work areas. Follow radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure and protect both patients and staff. Perform routine maintenance and report any technical issues or equipment malfunctions promptly.
Documentation & Record Keeping:
Ensure accurate patient records and imaging logs are maintained in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with preparing reports or providing additional images as requested by the radiologist or physician.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiography required. State licensure in Hawaii (or eligibility to obtain it). Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
Experience & Skills:
Previous experience in an imaging center or healthcare setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply. Proficiency in operating X-ray equipment and understanding of radiographic techniques. Strong attention to detail and the ability to position patients for optimal image quality. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with patients in a compassionate and professional manner.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to assist patients and lift equipment as needed. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving lifting, bending, and reaching. Why Join Maui Diagnostic Imaging?
