Mid-Level Job Description Operates imaging equipment using standard and modified techniques in accordance with department protocols and safety guidelines. Prepares patients and equipment for exams, ensuring proper patient positioning, removal of radiopaque items, and use of immobilization devices when necessary. Verifies patient identity and exam orders, reviews clinical history, and collaborates with physicians for special or complex cases to ensure accurate and appropriate imaging. Provides quality patient care based on specific needs including but not limited to age, medical condition, and/or developmental status (e.g. careful and proper positioning of patients, helping dress and undress patients when necessary, cleaning patients when necessary, blood pressures, pulses, respiration, and CPR). Prepares patients for examination by dressing and gowning them for the examination. Assist providers as needed in the examination of the patient (e.g. turn patient, hand instruments to provider, etc.). Obtain prepare, and set up supplies and instruments to be used in the care and treatment of patients, as directed, perform or assist in the treatment. Gathers patient history, vital signs, and documents into record. Accurately record on appropriate forms in patient's chart and report all abnormal readings of sudden changes to provider or supervisor. Collects and documents patient history and vital signs, applies oxygen as instructed, and monitors oxygen tank levels and availability. Maintains imaging safety by properly using and returning dosimeters, cleaning equipment, and reporting malfunctions or safety hazards. Supports imaging workflow and Quality Assurance by monitoring and ensuring accurate and timely transfer of all imaging studies to PACS for physician interpretation; collects relevant clinical data for each study in alignment with departmental SOPs; stays current on imaging equipment operations and troubleshooting. Assists with operations, scheduling, and inventory by collaborating with physicians, nurses, clerical staff, and other team members to optimize patient flow and operational efficiency. Maintains adequate stock of clinical and imaging supplies, and adheres to all hospital safety and health protocols. Works closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to coordinate scheduling, optimize patient flow, and maintain operational efficiency in a high-volume outpatient setting. Maintains appropriate inventory of clinical and imaging supplies, and ensures proper stock rotation and ordering procedures. Transports or escorts patients as needed. Participates in required training, continuing education, credentialing, and accreditation activities. Upholds all safety, infection control, and compliance standards per facility policy and regulatory agency guidelines. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality for all patient and facility-related information. The position may work on rotating shifts, with work on weekends and holidays and may require standby and call back duty. Performs additional tasks as assigned to support departmental or facility operations.Qualifications:
Education:
Successful completion of an approved program in Radiologic Technology with a certificate or associate degree recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).Certification:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography required.License:
A current State of Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license in Radiography required.Experience:

Six (6) months of progressively responsible professional imaging technologist/specialist experience which demonstrated a thorough knowledge of imaging procedures and/or techniques such as myelograms, discograms, arthrograms, etc., including the X-raying of such areas of the human anatomy as the chest, skull, gastro-intestinal tract• urinary tract, and vascular system.
