JOB SUMMARY
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role ensures patient safety, provides compassionate patient care, and maintains imaging equipment according to regulatory and organizational standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the exam. Conduct patient screening for MRI safety, including contraindications (e.g., implants, devices, allergies). Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Monitor patients during procedures and respond to medical emergencies as needed. Administer contrast agents as prescribed and in compliance with policies and regulations. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health records system. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Perform routine quality assurance checks and report equipment issues promptly. Educate patients and families regarding procedures to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation. •This position will also act as the Rad Tech when needed•
Requirements:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, MRI Technology, or related field Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) MRI certification (ARRT-MR) preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred Prior experience in MRI preferred Experience with advanced imaging techniques (e.g., cardiac MRI, functional MRI) a plus
