Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our dynamic medical imaging team. In this vital role, you will operate advanced CT imaging equipment to produce detailed cross-sectional images of patients' internal structures, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Your expertise will contribute to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and various imaging modalities. Responsibilities Perform high-quality computed tomography scans using state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring optimal image clarity for diagnostic evaluation. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the exam. Apply aseptic techniques and maintain strict infection control standards during all procedures. Collaborate with radiologists, emergency medicine teams, and other healthcare providers to facilitate diagnostic evaluations across various departments such as urgent care, emergency room, and trauma centers. Utilize your knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to accurately interpret imaging requests and adjust techniques accordingly. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient information, and technical parameters in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Assist with specialized imaging procedures including Nuclear Medicine scans (such as PET scans), Mammography, DEXA scans for bone density assessment, sonography (ultrasound), and other diagnostic radiology services as needed. Ensure all imaging equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operated safely according to manufacturer guidelines and accreditation standards. Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and participate in ongoing training to enhance skills in areas like emergency medicine imaging, Level I Trauma Center protocols, and Level II trauma center procedures. Qualifications Certification or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist with specialized training in Computed Tomography from an accredited program. Proven experience performing CT scans in diverse clinical settings such as emergency rooms or trauma centers; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles including X-ray physics, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to imaging procedures. Hands-on experience with advanced imaging modalities such as PET scans, mammography systems, DEXA scans, nuclear medicine procedures including radionuclide therapies or diagnostics like PET scans. Familiarity with sonography techniques and ultrasound equipment is a plus. Ability to maintain aseptic technique standards while working efficiently under pressure in urgent care or emergency environments. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration within fast-paced healthcare teams. Knowledge of emergency room protocols and trauma center operations to support rapid diagnosis during critical situations.
