Job Description
CT Technologist Day/Night Shift Northern Illinois Permanent & Full-Time Direct Hire CT Imaging Hospital-Based Multiple Shift Options A hospital-based imaging department located in Northern Illinois, approximately one hour south of Chicago , is seeking an experienced CT Technologist to join its radiology team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a skilled CT professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong CT experience and be committed to providing high-quality diagnostic imaging and excellent patient care. Schedule Full-time, permanent position Hospital-based CT position Day and/or night shift availability may be available Schedule details to be discussed during the interview process Shift requirements may vary based on departmental needs Duties & Responsibilities Perform CT examinations according to established imaging protocols. Prepare patients for CT procedures and explain examinations clearly. Verify patient identification, clinical history, and examination orders. Position patients appropriately for CT examinations. Operate CT equipment safely and effectively. Select appropriate CT protocols based on the examination ordered. Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists. Administer contrast media according to established protocols and applicable requirements. Monitor patients before, during, and after CT procedures. Recognize and respond appropriately to contrast reactions and patient emergencies. Evaluate images for technical quality and repeat examinations when appropriate. Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation. Perform quality-control procedures and assist with equipment troubleshooting. Follow radiation safety and ALARA principles. Maintain compliance with departmental, regulatory, safety, and quality standards. Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals. Provide compassionate and professional patient care. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. Perform additional CT and radiologic responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Prior CT Technologist experience required. ARRT certification/registry required. Appropriate Illinois radiologic licensure required. BLS certification required. Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field required. Demonstrated ability to independently perform CT examinations. Strong knowledge of CT protocols, positioning, radiation safety, and image quality. Experience in a hospital-based imaging environment preferred. Strong patient-care and communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Strong critical-thinking and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Ability to work day and/or night shifts based on departmental needs. Commitment to patient safety, quality imaging, and regulatory compliance.
