Job Description

Interventional Radiology Technologist Job Description Overview Are you an upcoming diagnostic radiology technologist graduate or recent graduate? This pipeline allows the IU Health Talent Acquisition team to connect upcoming and recent diagnostic radiology technologist graduates with opportunities that best align with their unique skills and interests. Thank you for your interest in joining the team! This is a full-time Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology Technologist opportunity. The schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts and includes an on-call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays. Sign-on bonus available to eligible applicants! Assists radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures including acting as scrub tech where appropriate. Adheres to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Follows radiation safety protocols and is aware of patient dose alert levels and escalation procedure. Understands and has knowledge of complex procedures. Demonstrates ability to determine appropriate supplies for procedure and sets up sterile field. Possesses advanced knowledge of cross sectional and vascular anatomy. Communicates and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (critical care, ED, Trauma, IP, OP, Nursing, Oncology, Transplant, GI, Neurosurgery, etc). Documents necessary information in EMR. Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience. Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning. Requires knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during interventional exams. Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May be required to obtain advanced credential in interventional radiography, if applicable. Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.
