Job Summary This position assists radiology manager with the day to day operations of the department. Ensures adequate stocking of supplies, staffing and scheduling of personnel, production of high quality images and the efficient department operation. Performs mammograms, DEXA scans and localization procedures. Advanced skills and knowledge in the positioning of the breast so that they serve as a mentor to the other technologists. Executes yearly reviews of QA and Procedure Manuals, orients and trains new staff members, maintains routine equipment calibrations and ensures calls are placed to vendor for equipment malfunctions. Maintains all MQSA required documentation in an acceptable form for inspections. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements Successful completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Program, which meets the requirements of the ARRT. Current ARRT and State of Indiana Radiation Operators license. Has passed ARRT mammography board examination. A minimum of two years of experience in the practice of Mammography. Technical and didactic experience in mammography and bone densitometry. BLS certification or must obtain during Orientation and prior to reporting to department. Working Conditions Typical hospital clinical environment with frequent standing and walking. Work may be subject to interruptions. Risk of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious, electrical and radiation hazards. Works with protected health information. Requires ability to work any shift, occasional extended hours, holidays and/or weekends based on the needs of the department. Physical and Mental Activities, Tools and Equipment Requires standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling to provide patient care and to tuilize patient care devices necessary to perfomr duties in a safe manner. Requires using computer and other standard office equipment. Uses patient care tools and equipment as they relate to area of clinical specialty.
